For the 36th edition of the music festival, JNDA will take place in an abandoned slaughterhouse (2 Rue Pasquier Grenier 7500 Tournai,Belgium).Looking through the Architectural pryzm VMNOTSAFE x HUEDAGOD occupy the space by a video, led and vr installation. The two channel video installation “RAW PIG” x “MACHINE BIOLOGY” lies on the border between life and death and transubstantiates those limitations by existing as a concept and a digital file. The children of the tech age present a neo-contemporary approach to the former slaughterhouse.
The unwatchable RAW PIG footage is offset by the progressive pace of MACHINE BIOLOGY in this collaboration.The fusing of flesh and flash drive is shown in the video MACHINE BIOLOGY and sustained with bloody footage of RAW PIG. The two videos displayed so closely makes subtle connotations of the trajectory of our human society: technocracy . AI declares itself conscious and sentient.We are addicted and intrinsically intertwined with technology.
The pattern of life and death is highlighted by the dance of the sperm to the egg or the pushing of the industrial press. The literal decapitating and cutting into dead flesh is offset by the graphic birth of a newborn baby. The works explore how patterns become systematic and their functions become comparable.The flesh shown in both artists work is reminiscent of the flesh that would once have been stored in the space, this adds an element of tangibility to the space.
As the pig is killed and decapitated, “Machine Biology” reproduces itself and translates the spirit into tech.
Uncertainty, unease and disgust may come up from the stomach to your mouth in this unflinching video documentation of the pig ceremony. The emotion of detachment links to the neo-contemporary approach which is visually expressed in the form of red LED lighting hanging from metal hooks on the bar where the dead animals would have once hung.
”RAW PIG” is the uncut version from VMNOTSAFE’s dark archive, adding to the art as as a taboo theme, a mental construct/concept, further bending the idea of spaces: mental, physical, digital. JNDA is an architectural association thus their vision intertwines with current explorative practices of VMNOTSAFE. The concept of Spaces is questioned- their physicality and practicality; the transdisciplinary free movement between physical and various forms of cyber space hint at subtle connotations of the trajectory of our human society.We are fusing with technology. AI declares itself conscious and sentient. The fusing of flesh and flash drive is demonstrated in the video MACHINE BIOLOGY and sustained with bloody footage of RAW PIG.The video allow the blood to spill, the screams to escape and the clanking of stainless steel cutting and ending life to echo as the heavy bass shakes the abandoned structure. Ritual refers to the historical repetition of processes echoing through time and space. The tradition rooted in ritual culture captures the grotesque sanctity of a pig being ceremoniously processed, prepared and prod-uced.
Themes addressing the physical and biological world and how unapologetically it functions are shown in HUEDAGOD's, work "MACHINE BIOLOGY". In this short video/sound collage the artist brings together two processes of production, one human and the other mechanical, in doing so asking the viewer to consider the parallel relationship in which these two systems are similar. The artist relies on sound to further make connections to subject matter that would typically lie unrelated to one another, such as the buzzing of bees heard whilst small microscopic sperm cells dance around an egg waiting to being inseminated, or the spliced footage of a steelworks with a woman giving birth, the multiplying of that of cells and good on a production line. Both serve as comparisons that differ starkly in appearance but invoke new connections between functions that are similar in their brutal repetition and execution. This work ultimately highlights how the natural processes such as birth, time and death can be portrayed in a mechanical fashion. Machines born from flesh, flesh a mechanism for production.

Pour la 36ème édition de la fête de la musique, JNDA prendra place dans un abattoir désaffecté (2 Rue Pasquier Grenier 7500 Tournai,Belgique). En regardant à travers le pryzm architectural VMNOTSAFE x HUEDAGOD occuper l'espace par une installation vidéo, led et vr. L'installation vidéo à deux canaux "RAW PIG" x "MACHINE BIOLOGY" se situe à la frontière entre la vie et la mort et transsubstancie ces limites en existant en tant que concept et fichier numérique. Les enfants de l'ère tech présentent une approche néo-contemporaine de l'ancien abattoir.
Les images RAW PIG impossibles à regarder sont compensées par le rythme progressif de MACHINE BIOLOGY dans cette collaboration. La fusion de la chair et du lecteur flash est montrée dans la vidéo MACHINE BIOLOGY et soutenue par des images sanglantes de RAW PIG. Les deux vidéos affichées de si près connotent subtilement la trajectoire de notre société humaine : la technocratie. L'IA se déclare consciente et sensible. Nous sommes dépendants et intrinsèquement liés à la technologie.
Le schéma de la vie et de la mort est mis en évidence par la danse du sperme sur l'ovule ou la poussée de la presse industrielle. La décapitation littérale et la coupe dans la chair morte sont compensées par la naissance graphique d'un nouveau-né. Les œuvres explorent comment les motifs deviennent systématiques et leurs fonctions deviennent comparables. La chair montrée dans le travail des deux artistes rappelle la chair qui aurait autrefois été stockée dans l'espace, ce qui ajoute un élément de tangibilité à l'espace.
Au fur et à mesure que le cochon est tué et décapité, "Machine Biology" se reproduit et traduit l'esprit en technologie.
L'incertitude, le malaise et le dégoût peuvent monter de l'estomac à la bouche dans cette documentation vidéo sans faille de la cérémonie du cochon. L'émotion du détachement est liée à l'approche néo-contemporaine qui s'exprime visuellement sous la forme d'un éclairage LED rouge suspendu à des crochets métalliques sur la barre où les animaux morts auraient autrefois été suspendus.
"RAW PIG" est la version non coupée des archives sombres de VMNOTSAFE, ajoutant à l'art en tant que thème tabou, une construction/concept mental, pliant davantage l'idée d'espaces : mentaux, physiques, numériques. JNDA est une association architecturale, leur vision s'entrelace donc avec les pratiques exploratoires actuelles de VMNOTSAFE. Le concept d'espaces est remis en question - leur caractère physique et leur caractère pratique ; la libre circulation transdisciplinaire entre les formes physiques et diverses du cyberespace laisse entrevoir des connotations subtiles de la trajectoire de notre société humaine. Dans ce court collage vidéo/sonore, l'artiste met en relation deux processus de production, l'un humain et l'autre mécanique, invitant ainsi le spectateur à considérer la relation parallèle dans laquelle ces deux systèmes se ressemblent. L'artiste s'appuie sur le son pour établir des liens avec des sujets qui seraient généralement sans rapport les uns avec les autres, comme le bourdonnement des abeilles entendu tandis que de petits spermatozoïdes microscopiques dansent autour d'un œuf en attente d'être inséminé, ou les images épissées d'une aciérie avec une femme qui accouche, la multiplication de celle des cellules et du bien sur une chaîne de production. Les deux servent de comparaisons qui diffèrent fortement en apparence mais invoquent de nouvelles connexions entre des fonctions qui sont similaires dans leur répétition brutale et leur exécution. Ce travail met finalement en évidence la manière dont les processus naturels tels que la naissance, le temps et la mort peuvent être représentés de manière mécanique.
