IN THE AGE OF AI

65 x 85

1/1 PRINT

“In the Age of AI” is a video still cementing the visually striking moment whereby Mark Zuckerberg was visually attacked by the paparazzi and cross examined in court about privacy, data and control of his company Facebook. This became known as the Cambridge Analytica scandal where the users of the app were swayed by algorithms designed to favour politicians in the 2020 US election. This further looks at the influence of technology on the large-scale public, especially when conflated with personal interest. The digital artwork presented as a print references the rise of AI and its place in society. The print becomes a time capsule and a visual time-stamp accessible with a quick QR scan which takes you to the precise documentary.

IN CONVERSATION WITH AN EMPATHETIC AI

VIDEO

“In conversation with empathic AI” is an AI video and bot. The interactive public performance is a dialogue between an algorithm designed to emulate empathy and exhibition attendees. The context of this artwork refers to rising human anxieties related to advancements in technology, specifically the lack of emotion and empathy of the systems. The mass communication and nuanced approach to the conversation became a collective experience and part of the history of the artwork. Another notable quality is the modern solitude resulting in the feasibility of such products as an empathic robot.

POP CULTURE AND THE OBSERVER MATRIX/ INTERDIMENSIONAL CABLE

2021

VIDEO STILL

68 x 90 cm

The next print which immortalises this moment in time, caught on video titled: “Pop Culture and the Observer matrix/ iner-dimensional cable” .The print is a video still depicting pop culture icons observing the natural world accessed via the internet. The observer matrix grows as we observe them observe them. In that sense we all become spectators, a notion explored by the Buddhist practice of meditation. As we observe, reflect and meditate we complete the observer matrix cycle.

Y2K AESTHETIC

2021

VIDEO STILL

68 x 90 cm

This screenshot print furthers the idea of physical time capsules to our growing vast internet. Furthermore to making history with events in time, we can reflect upon different ages through the visual outcomes. In this case we pay homage to the aesthetic of the 2000s where the infinity was observed through multiple windows.

NEON BUDDHA

2021

LED installation

2m x 1m

The NEON BUDDHA echoes ideas of meditation and mindfulness present throughout the artist's oeuvre. It lights the way and looms above the heads of people, acting as the present religious figure. This installation became site specific as it was transported in its entirety to the abandoned Sofia location.

How we reference time and interact with AI

The space occupied by the artist is part of a larger installation ,which is a recreated living experience  of the artist and is to be shared and felt. It sits atop a table with a broken ashtray and a bottle, lit by the light re-installation of the FEMME BUDDHA. The Buddha is seated and invokes the practice of meditation, reflection and asks bigger questions to do with the observer. Hence why,to showcase some human emotions: “The Many Faces Of…” series, oil painting frames the start of the show.

HAVING A DIFFERENT RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR EMOTIONS IN NEW TECH AGE.

DISASSOCIATION AND ASCENSION.

THE OBSERVER + AI = MODERN CYBORGS

BY FUSING WITH TECHNOLOGY, STUDYING, INTERACTING AND FEEDING IT.

DATA

AI does not process DATA like humans, hence the UNCLEAR, surreal AI outcomes command creativity within the viewer.
